European Marketing Strategy Director – South East

Our client manages and services a range of membership, insurance and other products to over 4000 active clients and 170 million customers across the world, in the banking, retail, travel, on-line and direct marketing Industries.
These services help their clients build revenue and loyalty from their customer base utilizing their marketing expertise, innovative product portfolio and full service capabilities.

The job role: Growth has led to the need to attract a high calibre marketing professional as European Marketing Strategy Director to establish and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy by country across the European business.

Key responsibilities will include:

1.Ensure that all strategy is accurate and consistent, ensure that all analytics are complete and accurate and that insight identified is logical and complete…and actionable
2.Manage new channel entries
3.Deliver the insight agenda: develop and execute the testing agenda and ensure delivery of insight which is accurate, complete, relevant and usable
4.Determine marketing best practice across all channels and countries and with the US, and ensure that this is used across the business wherever relevant
  5.Own the marketing budgeting and forecasting processes (annual and monthly) and ensure conformance to timelines and quality
6.Manage (and develop where required) appropriate reporting, analysis and measurement tools to support informed marketing and commercial decision-making. Ensure that all reporting delivered is accurate and complete, and accompanied by appropriate interpretation
7.Set and execute against team objectives and lead, develop and coach the European Marketing Strategy Team to deliver them
8.Motivate and develop the European Marketing Strategy Team, developing skills and experience where required and ensuring a highly motivated, well developed and appropriately experienced team of professionals
9.Participate in ad hoc projects as required

Salary: £60,000-£75,000 + £7.5k Car + 20% Bonus + Bupa + Contributory pension etc.

Requirements:

Education

  • Graduate

Preferable is MBA and/or analytical discipline

Professional Qualification
Preferable is marketing qualifications (CIM etc)

Skills / Experience (eg capabilities, industry background …)

  • Extensive amount of experience in direct marketing (preferably financial services or marketing of subscription product)
  • Proven and demonstrable direct marketing experience
  • Expertise in at least one DM medium, preferably online
  • Experience in development of marketing strategy
  • Experience of delivering value from a testing driven insight agenda
  • Ability to create and lead highly performing teams
  • Ability to work effectively across a number of European markets, with experience of working effectively with cultural diversity
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix organisation desirable
  • Ability to plan effectively and report with accuracy and insight

Experience working with external vendors and/or agencies desirable
