Reorting to the MD of UK/ Ireland of this established, reputable online travel business the Performance Marketing Director will be responsible for overseeing the customer and digital marketing of their UK and Ireland business including the ownership of marketing spend versus marketing efficiency targets.



Your focus will be to drive revenue and marketing contribution through tactical and strategic customer acquisition, growing online acquisition through digital marketing channels including affiliate relationships. Improving online customer service experience, increasing customer loyalty and driving ongoing engagement in web and mobile channels.



You will lead performance marketing activities for all UK products to include flights, hotels, holidays, packaging and other travel related products.

It is expected that you will drive results through analytical approach to trading challenges. Your job will be to improve targeting, drive the website and mobile experience and innovate in new marketing channels and propositions to new customer or prospect segments.

To be considered for this position, you must have:
* Tireless enthusiasm for analysis and a detailed understanding of the performance of the business in a rigorously analytical environment
* Ability to work effectively with business commercial teams
* Capacity to manage and forecast marketing budgets, both cost and derived revenue
* Exceptional experience of product positioning, good understanding of calendarisation and seasonal marketing

As a scientific leader in the area of computer aided reasoning in the life sciences, our client supplies knowledge based prediction software into the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and personal care markets.

Our client is a not for profit company and an educational charity that promotes knowledge sharing and collaboration. It is owned and funded by it`s members which include the world`s top 20 pharmaceutical, chemical and cosmetics organisations, as well as many of their regulatory bodies and academic institutions.

Offering real scope for long term progression, a leadership opportunity has arisen for a senior sales and marketing professional in the life sciences software arena. This role could progress to CEO in the longer term future for the right person.


The Role

The purpose of the role is to provide the vision and leadership necessary to ensure the Company`s position as the world`s scientific leader in the area of in silico toxicity, metabolism prediction and knowledge sharing. Reporting to the CEO, this is the most senior client facing position within the business.

The key areas of responsibility are:


- To create and implement marketing and sales development plans
- To maintain long term relationships with members
- To ensure the quality of technical support
- The management of the externally facing teams to ensure the development of positive interactions, collaboration and team culture
- To ensure the efficient use of resources in product development and projects
- To work with the externally facing sales, account management, technical support and marketing teams to grow the membership and services of the Company.


The Candidate


The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate
- A minimum of 5 years in a scientific software sales leadership role
- A degree in a life science discipline and scientific credibility evidenced by publications in scientific journals; a PhD would be advantageous but not essential
- Proven ability to manage financial resources
- The ability to lead a team, break down barriers to relationship development and manage internal and external collaborations.

And show excellent skills in:


- Leadership management and development of sales and marketing teams
- Strategic marketing planning and implementation
- The application of key account management principles, influencing at a senior level and negotiation of large contracts
- Analytical problem solving
- Initiative and innovation
An understanding of the use of scientific software in chemical structure-property modelling and the sectors in which it is used is highly desirable, together with the ability to analyse processes and implement continuous improvements.

The Salary / Package

In return we are offering a competitive salary of £50-60 base + excellent OTE and benefits including a generous pension and 34 days holiday.
