Our client is a membership-based registered charity with the aim of advancing the conservation of Scotland’s biodiversity for the benefit of present and future generations. 

The new post of Director of Marketing and Business Development has been created to provide them with the expertise, inspiration, leadership and innovation to develop new and existing business opportunities, to enhance the Trust’s profile and improve their communication with members, supporters, customers and other stakeholders.  The post holder will be part of the Trust’s Senior Management Team and will play a pivotal role in ensuring the future success of a high profile and high achieving charity.

The successful candidate should be educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) preferably in Marketing or Business and will have ideally completed a recognised management training programme.  With a successful track record in strategic planning you will have previously held a Senior Management position relating to marketing, business development or communications.  As an inspirational leader and efficient people manager you will get the best out of your team and be able to work effectively and inspirationally with a wide cross-section of staff and other stakeholders. You will be adept at creative thinking, have an astute analytical ability, and be an accomplished communicator.

Customer Retention Director – Birmingham

Responsibilities will include:

· To ensure that all existing customers renew the policy holdings they have.
· To ensure that the budgeted renewal income is realised.
· To develop a customer rewards scheme for customers that drives retention but can also be used within acquisition and cross-sales campaigns.
· To define the reactive retention strategy, bespoke products and discounts to be used within the call centre.
· Overseeing the production of all marketing activity, within your remit
· Responsible for developing a customer communications program that improves customer retention rate. This program encompasses all written communication, telemarketing as well as definition and delivery of offers and product enhancements
· To manage a program of customer experience work that is targeted to improve satisfaction, loyalty and advocacy of the customer base.
· To define the customer journey after a cancellation attempt, including data selection, discount levels and development of a bespoke portfolio of reactive product offers.
· Develop the appropriate Customer Loyalty Strategy.
· Develop and introduce a customer rewards / loyalty scheme that improves customer loyalty as well as cross-sell and acquisition performance.

It is essential that you have the following experience:

· Experience and understanding of direct marketing processes and businesses.
· The ideal candidate will be an experienced business to customer marketing and/or retention specialist with a probable background in utilities, financial services or telecoms.
· Experience of bringing innovative and new ideas to challenge processes and the way we operate in this area.
· A self-starter who embraces responsibility and can manage own time.
· A confident and articulate communicator who can influence and direct up to Board Level.
· Strong multi-channel marketing background, preferably including financial services experience.
· Top quality analytical skill set.
· Strong commercial acumen used to pulling business cases together.
· Ability to think strategically to drive long run direction of the area
· Ability to present compelling ideas and to influence at a senior level. Capable of having significant personal impact with an experienced Executive Team.
